GREEN — Founded in 1977 by Gary McAfee, McAfee Tool & Die Inc., located at 1717 Boettler Road, has a tradition and reliability that extends to both its products and its workforce, according to General Manager Joe Lysiak."We are a manufacturer for the high-precision machining industry, [selling to] manufacturers and companies like appliance and automotive manufacturers," Lysiak said.According to its website at McAfeetool.com, the McAfee team is made up of creative designers and expert craftsmen and operators who use continually updated equipment, giving the company a reputation for innovation in the competitive machining industry.McAfee offers tool and die manufacturing, computer numerical control (CNC) machining, metal stamping, laser cutting, laser engraving and etching, design/engineer services, prototyping, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) measuring with laser reading, reverse engineering, wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) cutting, five-axis machining, computer-aided design (CAD) to computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programming, short-run and large quantity production runs, extremely close tolerances with exact repeatability, small-part production to sophisticated aerospace machining and metal forming.McAfee is also International Organization for Standardization-certified, ensuring the quality, safety and efficiency of its products through stringent procedures and systems, according to company officials.Lysiak described McAfee Tool & Die as a "full service" tooling and manufacturing facility, unique among its competitors because of its ability to house its entire tooling and machining process under one roof. He added that this allows McAfee to more effectively meet special-order needs and hit "just-in-time-delivery" due dates for laser cutting, wire EDM and various tool and die manufacturing needs.He said McAfee operates a single shift and employs 30 tool and die makers, machinists, CNC operators, programmers, production workers, salesmen and supervisors.
