BRISTOL- Rowley Spring & Stamping Corp. has been awarded $360,000 in ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funding.
The awarded money comes from a portion of the $28 million in federal ARPA funding that the city will receive over the next five years. Bristol has created a 15 member ARPA task force with appointed community members who recommend how best to utilize these funds. Last March, the ARPA Task Force recommended that money be used to assist businesses and nonprofits with eligible project costs related to the covid-19 pandemic or HVAC improvements, park improvements or similar upgrades.
Rowley Spring & Stamping Co., a Bristol manufacturer that produces springs and stamping products used worldwide, was established in 1954 and currently employs 110 people at its facility at 210 Redstone Hill Road.
Rowley Spring & Stamping Co. used the grant money to improve infrastructure, inspection capabilities, tooling technologies and operational capacity.
These investments helped them to grow their business, hire five additional employees and provide stability for existing staff. They also purchased a new Wire EDM machine and a new Machining Center, which provided in-house machining capabilities to machine blocks and tool features.
